The Nature Nights Free Film Series continues for a Halloween-themed double feature of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus!
Help us support one of Bridgeport's community gardens with a clean up before the season ends. We will likely be doing a trash pick up, invasive species removal, and some landscaping.
The Nature Nights Free Film Series continues with Princess and the Frog, followed by To the Surface, directed by Gnarly Bay. To The Surface explores the impact of COVID-19 on the Rhode Island fishing industry, and also shines a light on a system that is increasingly and unapologetically dependent upon overseas processing vs. creating an ecosystem of local suppliers.

The Nature Nights Free Film Series continues with the live-action The Little Mermaid (2023), followed by Oyster Heaven, directed by Stephen Hamm. Oyster Heaven tells the story of oystering along the southern New England coast: from the native Americans and early European settlers to the boom times of the late 19th century and the collapse of the early 20th century, to today's rebound - and the people who are making it happen.

The Nature Nights Free Film Series continues with Ice Age, followed by Voice of the Glaciers, directed by Sindre Kolbjørnsgard. Voice of the Glaciers takes place in the summer of 2019, when four young adventurers embark on a dangerous scientific expedition into the Arctic, with the intent of documenting the true story of the effects of the changing climate. Through Eric’s scientific degree in glaciology, and Kris' crucial knowledge of navigating the local terrain, working as an Arctic guide, the team approach the endeavor with open minds, seeking evidence, to determine fact from hysteria, about the rate of glacial melting.

Join us on for the relaunch of our club aimed at getting people active, outdoors, and socially engaged in public spaces. We walk weekly on Saturdays at Seaside Park from 8-9 am. This year we are hoping to visit hiking trails across the state pending interest and volunteers to lead. If you're able to make it, would like to lead a group at another day/time/location or have other suggestions or comments please let us know.

This season, our placemaking and food justice cohorts have been learning a lot about the city of Bridgeport and the ways they can be a part of the movement to improve the city for themselves and their community through their creative change making projects.
Watch as they present their proposals using real sites in Bridgeport and making connections to the things they believe their city is lacking.

Your attendance will not only help us continue our mission of creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Bridgeport but will also pay tribute to the remarkable contributions of our honoree.

Join us at Sliver by the River to help beautify the site and prepare for our Block pARTy celebration. During the stewardship event, we will pick up litter around the site, prepare the fenceline for our Fence Art project, and paint four-square and hopscotch (weather dependent).
Sliver by the River is currently a 3.6-acre vacant lot we are working to redevelop into a public waterfront green space. Be a part of this community-driven initiative at Sliver by the River, as we strive to transform this space into a community park for all to enjoy.
No previous experience is required. Wear long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and closed-toed shoes to protect against contact with plants and tools. Dress in clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a hat/visor and a reusable water bottle.
