The Flow Project

The Flow Project is a seasonal environmental collaboration with The Nature Conservancy as project lead and Groundwork Bridgeport, Lots of Fish, MetroCOG, and Save the Sound as partners. The purpose of this project is to share knowledge about greening Bridgeport's urban landscape, engaging the community, and using green infrastructure to prevent continued water pollution in affected communities.

Adopt-a-Tree & Tree Corps

Would you like to help us increase the survival rate of our newly planted trees? Or help us take care of our older trees?

Adopt a Tree & Tree Corps volunteers play a key role in the stewardship of our local tree canopy by

  • watering newly planted trees

  • monitoring trees for disease and pests

  • pruning trees and removing suckers

  • notifying us if trees need to be staked

  • meeting other maintenance needs

We will be hosting multiple training sessions this spring to orient new volunteers to the program and provide them with the tools and knowledge they will need to succeed.

To sign up as a tree volunteer, please register here.

We look forward to working with you to maintain our trees!

Air Quality Monitor Lending Program

Healthier Air, Healthier You, Healthier Bridgeport

We all depend on clean air to breathe, both indoors and outdoors. But air pollution from factories, cars, smoking, and wildfires can have a negative impact on your health, especially for vulnerable communities in cities. With the rise in factors that worsen air pollution, we want to ensure that Bridgeport’s air continues to stay healthy for all residents.

Through a new initiative funded by the Environmental Task Force, we are lending residents air monitors to monitor their indoor or outdoor air. The data gathered from residents who borrow air monitors will help us decide where to plant trees which help clean the air around us.
