Please come volunteer with us to steward the Helen Street Green Space this Fall! Stewardship events will be held on September 17th, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and October 15th, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Background: The Helen Street Green Space is a public green space located adjacent to Luis Munoz Marin Elementary School in Bridgeport’s East Side Neighborhood. Since Spring 2022, Groundwork has been working to revitalize this space, and activate it as a butterfly garden, educational space, and as a place of refuge for East Side residents to enjoy. Through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and TD Bank, Groundwork Bridgeport is hosting stewardship events as well as two tree giveaway events for East Side residents throughout this year. With this project, we will continue the revitalization of this space, and work to expand the urban tree canopy throughout the East Side neighborhood.
