Farmington River Stewardship Featured in the Winsted Phoenix
We recently traveled with five program participants up to Barkhamsted, CT on the Farmington River, where we worked with NPS River Stewards to remove invasive plants in the morning and lead a family fun day in the afternoon.! It was our first excursion in a partnership with the Farmington River Coordinating Committee and Wild and Scenic Farmington River, with which our goal is to establish connections between urban and rural communities in Connecticut and encourage people to recognize the links and commonalities between our physical and social environments. We are honored to have our work featured in an article in the Winsted Phoenix, a regional newspaper for Northwest CT— click here to read the full article and see photos from that afternoon!
If you would like to join us on one of the three more trips we’ll be taking there this summer, you can find more information and sign-up links on the events page of our website.
